The Laternenfest happened at the same weekend as the Frankfurt Museumsuferfest.

This series of pictures start with some blooming Lupins near the little town of Neu-Anspach. The week after we made a short trip to Frankfurt. Frankfurt was hosting this week the "Deutsches Turnfest" which was ending this friday. This festival for all german gymnast has a long tradition, the first was held 1860. First we went up the Main-Tower. From the public viewing platform you have an terrific view over the city center. Then we went to the festival mile along the Main river. There were several stages with concerts from numerous bands. For example Philipp Poisel was there. The day ended with with a spectacular water, fire, laser and fireworks show at midnight.
During the week of the 20-24 of April the Open Mobile Alliance had a meeting in Helsinki, Finland. Most people probably are not interested on the topics I followed during the conference, like WAP push over SIP (Session Initiation Protocol), MobAd (Mobile Advertizing) or CPM (Converged IP messaging). In the evening there was time to take quite a number of pictures in Helsinki, because the sunset is already quite late compared to Germany and the weather was somewhat cold but sunny. Interesting was also walking and running from island to island on Thursday evening. Thanks to Nokias Sportstracker software for their GPS enabled phones the trace is available on the web.
The easter weekend had really gorgeous weather. The feeling was like summer with the warm weather. We made a trip to the Palmengarten (Deutsch) in Frankfurt (Deutsch) in order to see all the blooming flowers. But the flowers in the garden and at the Saalburg (Deutsch) were blooming as well. Last but not least we encountered some easter bunnies.
