After the early snow in October there was not much snow this year. Nethertheless there was some nice days and Christmas!
I had the honor to attend the Internet Engineering Task Force meeting held in Atlanta this month. The flight was smooth although I didn't got a window seat. Sunday morning there was the chance to visit Stone Mountain. On Friday there was 1.5 hours in the botanical garden with nice flowers. Otherwise in the evening and at lunch there was some time to explore the city.
There were some really nice summer days to come before the first Autumn days. Autumn then started quite dramatically with the first snow already arriving in October.
Just back from vacation there was really nice weather and we spent a nice day at the zoo.
After the Norway cruise we spent one additional day in Hanover visiting the "Herrenhäuser Gärten" and the Zoo.
This we spent our summer vacations in a Norwegian Fjords cruise. As expected the weather was mixed with some rain, some clouds and some sun. We very much enjoyed for what Slartibartfast won an award. The trip started in Hamburg, then one day on sea and then followed by one day in Bergen, Geiranger (with a stop in Hellesylt), Åndalsnes, Molde, Trondheim, Ålesund, Eidfjord, Stavanger and back to Hamburg. Unfortunately only the pictures up to Trondheim are online.
A two week work trip to Israel with a chance to use the weekend for a one day trip to Jerusalem.
Another warm and sunny day was perfect to discover Frankfurt. This time the flowers got real colors to it.

A warm and sunny day was perfect to have an overview of Frankfurt from top of the Main Tower http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Tower. The Main Tower has a public viewing platform on top at a height of 200 meters. Not many of Frankfurts skyscrapers are higher which gives a fantastic view on Frankfurt from above.
There were some cold days which delayed or even destroyed blossoms. The events like hr3@night or the night of the museums were also warmer last year.
Just back from Israel the next trip was to Switzerland. The train is more comfortable to travel, there is more space, you can move and there was even Internet connectivity. So it was possible to work :( although VPN didn't worked. On the way there were some number of train stations to visit like Frankfurt, Basel, Olten, Lenzburg and Zurich.
Last week Herzliya greeted me quite unusual with wind and waves. Although there were quite heavy waves and the protective wall around the marina was temporary closed there were still enough braves which were mastering the waves. As exchange for the weather the Daniel hotel offered an upgrade. Similar thing on the way out, after waiting one and a half hour in the queue seeing all the buisiness peoples went by without the queue moving a single step Lufthansa also offered an upgrade to a nice window seat.
The days in early February are sunny, but rather cold. In the morning the temperature is around minus twenty degrees. There is very little snow resulting in nice ice sculptures.
