In June this years Rose and Lights Festival in the Palmengarten was celebrated. Of cause the Palmengarten has to offer much more flowers than roses.
In May very cute Lion cubs were born at the Frankfurt Zoo. At our first attempt to see them they were not ready for the public but we had some nice action from the tiger. A day or so after the lion cubs wer able to stay the crowds we very lucky to see them at our second attempt.
In May we did our yearly visit to the Zoo of Cologne as they have a nice Hippo pool.
Spring is here and came with a lot of flowers. To spice it up a bit we also visited the Palmengarten, one of the two botanical gardens in Frankfurt and had some fun at the night of the museums.

In winter the nights are long and the Palmengarten starts the year with illuminating the botanical garden during night time. A bit later the Luminale illuminates the city with several projects.
Palms are usually located at warm regions. In March we had snow and it covered the palms at the Palmengarten in Frankfurt. The orchid exhibition was affected but the part in the glass house could be visited.
